Our Furry Friends!

Sarabi

Siamese

Crystal has always wanted to own a Siamese cat. When she met Sarabi she knew instantly she had to be added to the family (Crystal and her daughter). Sarabi came from a South Dakota reservation after having a litter of kittens when she was a year old.

Chloe

Tabby/Maine Coon

Chloe was adopted for Crystal's daughter's 6th birthday. Chloe had a rough beginning in life. Starting off with not knowing what another cat was (growling at her own reflection), a permanently inflammed jaw, muscle wasting in her back legs, and pyometra. That doesn't let anything stop her and she's still the sweetest thing ever.

Kumi

Calico

When Kumi was just a 3-month-old kitten, ready to leave her mom, Mary found her through a Craigslist posting. It was perfect timing, as Mary's oldest was just turning one year old. Since then, Kumi has been an integral part of the family, growing up alongside Mary's children and filling their home with boundless love and laughter.

Arlo

Lab/Mastiff Mix

After being the last boy of the litter, sweet Arlo found his perfect home with Mary. Mary's husband was looking for a bit of male energy amidst a sea of amazing women in the household. Turns out, he's not just any dog; he's the ultimate snuggle buddy and has formed the sweetest bond with Mary. This pup has quickly stolen their hearts, proving that sometimes the best things come when you least expect them.

Cruise

7-yr-old White GSD/Husky mix

Before Crystal adopted Cruise from an animal rescue, police confirmed he was a stray dog always roaming the streets of a South Dakota reservation for scraps to eat. His bed was snow pile drift. He had mange, skin infections, giardia, and needed a dental surgery. There is very little chance he would have been alive a year from when they found him if he would have continued to live in those conditions. It's so rare to find a Rez dog older than two if they are a stray. All these 'minor' issues that they have eventually kill them if not taken care of. He is now loved. Warm. Fed. Groomed. And his bed is wherever he would like.

Sage & Laila

Rainbow Bridge

At four months old, Sage was adopted from the humane society, a thoughtful gift from Mary’s mom to Mary's dad. Her unique name was inspired by a product in a fly-fishing catalog. Sage brought immeasurable joy and companionship to the family for nearly sixteen years. She was put down due to her body starting to fail her and being in pain. She is missed, and leaving behind a legacy of love and countless cherished memories.

Laila joined the family after being adopted from a relative who was expecting a baby and could no longer care for her. A rescue herself, Laila was initially very skittish around men and strangers. Remarkably, Laila seemed to sense Mary's pregnancy with her oldest child, showing her a gentle and protective affection during that special time. Sadly, Laila passed away at the age of nine due to congestive heart failure, but her memory lives on as a testament to the unique bond and intuitive connection she shared with Mary and her family.

(Laila and Sage were not related, but did indeed act like sisters).

Wookie

Rainbow Bridge

Crystal considers Wookie to be her soul-dog in this lifetime. Got him from a local humane society when he was 3-years-old and Crystal was in high school, until the old age of 17. Never knew much about his background, only thing was that Crystal was his 3rd owner, and he had been burned by a BBQ grill by a previous owner who had his leash tied to it when it fell over. He was the best dog and the good-est boy ever.
